In-Service Mental Health Seminar List for Staff of Long-Term Care Facilities and Businesses or Organizations
The following is a list of seminars that are available. They include many exercises, techniques, and hands on specifics for the attendees. These seminars have been received very positively and usually result in great satisfaction. They last about two hours with ample time for questions and answers. Specific examples are discussed during the seminar. Attendees are given a packet to take home with them for further study.
The presenter is a Licensed Psychologist with over 30 years experience in the field of Behavioral Health Care. His resume includes a B.A. from St. John’s University, an M.A. from New York University, and a Doctorate from Boston University all in Psychology and Counseling.

- Balancing Shift Work and Personal/Family Life
- Listening Skills: Exactly what to say to patients and what not to say
- How other visit with a Demented or LTC Loved One (for families)
- Major Diagnostic Categories and their characteristics, symptoms, and
treatments.
- Behavior Management for Long Termination Care Patients: Theory and
Techniques (the work of B.F Skinner and Pavlov, the Founders of Learning
Theory, adjusted to audience experience level).
- Training the Trainer: An extensive 2-3 day seminar for Long Term Care
Facility staff on all the known psychological problems encountered in
nursing homes and behavioral strategies to deal with them. A Core group
of leaders in the facility is identified and trained on these topics. Then a
support and maintenance relationship is developed so that the group can
call in for consultation anytime. This involves a monthly maintenance fee of
$500.00
